5 Reasons Why You Should Take Your Kids to Europe over Their Summer Break

Your kids usually have a summer break that lasts between two and three months long. That’s a lot of time to sit around the house and complain about how bored they are. Rather than give them the chance to do nothing all summer, consider a good enrichment activity: traveling throughout a European city.

1) Summer camp is expensive.

Most summer camps run in the hundreds per week. For example, you might end up paying upwards of $900 per week if you have two kids enrolled. This money could be used to give your children the experience of a lifetime, rather than a summer spent doing arts and crafts and swimming.

2) They’ll experience different cultures.

The best thing about travel is that it’s a great way to educate your children about other cultures. They’ll get to see the buildings that they read about in history books and walk in the footsteps of long-deceased famous people. There is so much to do and see and learn about that your kids definitely won’t be bored.

3) They can learn a new language from native speakers.

Learning a language from books in a classroom doesn’t compare at all to actually witness is being spoken. While your kids may not become bilingual over the course of a summer, they’ll learn some words. Even better, they’ll come away with a better appreciation of language skills.

4) Their friends may be off traveling as well.

If your kids aren’t at camp all summer, then you’re probably counting on their friends being around to keep them entertained. This doesn’t always work out since their friends might be traveling as well. Not only do you not want your kids to feel left out, but they’ll have plenty to do while exploring various European locales.

5) You’ll create plenty of memorable occasions.

Between the amazing scenery, the interesting things to do, and the amazing food, there are plenty of memories to be made. Your kids will come home with plenty of photos, souvenirs, and most importantly, memories of their trip and the time that they spent with you.

If you’re wondering where to take your kids for their summer break, look no further. We have some suggestions for you: London, England; Paris, France; Stockholm, Sweden; and Barcelona, Spain all have great memory-making potential. Another great destination is Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
