The Ink House: A Luxury Inn like No Other
Napa Valley, also known as California’s Wine Country is home to one very unique place to stay - The Ink House. This luxury inn is located in an Italianate-style structure that was built in 1885. Its amenities have been updated, but the building still retains its luxurious, old-world, European charm.
A Landmark Structure
The Ink House was designed and built by Theron H. Ink, a Napa Valley, wine pioneer. He arrived in California back in the 1860s, where he set up a ranch and then a small winery. He constructed The Ink House (named after him, of course), several decades later. It served as a private home, and then a bed and breakfast.
Now, of course, The Ink House is a luxurious inn, complete with elegantly appointed rooms. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ink House is also known as the place where Elvis Presley stayed while he shot the movie Wild In The Country back in 1960.
Luxurious Personalized Service
The incredible service at The Ink House begins when you arrive. You’ll be greeted by name the minute you walk in the door. Every employee is trained in the art of Italian hospitality, so your every request is handled with aplomb. After all, the Ink House was recently purchased by the Castellucci family, who know magnificence like no other! The inn has six rooms, each appointed with different high-end furnishings. In fact, each room was named after a member of the Ink family, and they are appointed in taste of their personality-masculine rooms, for instance Theron or Helios (named after the Helios Ranch that the Ink House sits on) are incorporated with more rustic fibers, textures, colors and accessories.
You can even rent out the entire Inn and host a weekend getaway for your friends and family, who will love staying in this beautiful, regally appointed historic home. On top of that, every morning the full-service breakfast is an Italian spread, complete with plenty of gourmet foods. The Ink House even has their own wine - Castellucci Napa Valley. They have a beautiful Spring Mountain Cabernet sauvignon, a must try, plus their “Lucia” wine which is a beautiful blend ideal for spring and summer occasions. If you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy your wine, the top floor of The Ink House has a lounge for that very purpose. However, if shopping is more your idea of fun, the boutique on the first floor is ideal. They sell some antiques, handbags, watches, shoes, and other fabulous items there.
The Ink House also has an “open kitchen” where the kitchen is stocked with the guests presences, where you will find your favorite snack, drinks and goodies - this way you are able to help yourselves around the clock. You will be asked for your preferences in a questionnaire upon making a reservation. We were very impressed with the refrigerated choices!
One of the best things about The Ink House is its location. It’s in the heart of wine country, not far from some top wineries and great restaurants. You’ll have easy access to plenty of things to do, as well as a beautiful setting to do them in. There is also a personal concierge service, where you’re driven to your destination in their Bentley. Plus, The Ink House has a massage therapist on staff who provides relaxing massage treatments in the comfort of your room. Nothing beats that level of luxury!
