Which Seat is Best for Your Flight?

When choosing a flight, where you sit can determine whether you have a good or bad flight. If you sit near the doors, you’ll be out sooner when you land. If you sit near the restroom, you won’t have to go far to wash your face. Window seats are nice to look out of, but with aisle seats, you can usually get a little more room to stretch out your legs.

So how do you choose? Luckily, there’s an awesome new app called SeatGuru that will help you find the perfect seat. This handy app will alert you when your preferred seat opens up. From there you can move around as you please.

Want some help choosing the right seat? Check out these pointers and this cool app.

Avoid Middle Seats

Nothing good ever happens in the middle seat. It’s cramped, and you don’t have a lot of room to stretch your legs. If your traveling alone, the middle seat can be a nightmare, but if you have someone on one or either side, it can be a little more bearable.

If at all possible, just avoid middle seats. If you’re in a hurry to get off the plane, go for the aisle seat. Otherwise, window seats will give you something to look out and lean on.

Never Sit Too Close to the Restroom

Even on a short flight, the airplane restroom can get dirty quickly. With so many people going in and out, it’s no surprise that this can happen. By the end of the flight, you may be gasping for fresh air and a seat away from that terrible smell.

Always sit at least four rows away from the restroom. This will ensure that you give users a bit of privacy as they head back, and you won’t smell it when they open the door.

Use SeatGuru

This handy app is like a map of your airplane. It can help you plan out your seat so you’re not sitting in the middle or too near to the restroom.

While booking your flight, check the type of plane you will be flying in. You can usually find this information in the “Details” section of your flight. Now go to SeatGuru and type in your plane’s information. You should see a map of your plane with all the doors and restrooms clearly marked. Each seat will be color-coded – good, bad or average – and you can choose which one will work best for you.

Don’t choose your seat selection at random. Use SeatGuru to make your next flight more enjoyable.
