Reasons to Stay At The Gorgeous Sandy Lane Resort, Barbados
The Sandy Land Resort Barbados opened in 1961, but it went through a complete renovation in 2001. The results are a very modern, yet luxuriously comfortable hotel complete with unique touches, such as electronic “do not disturb” signs on the doors. The resort is located right on the beach, and access to non-motorized water sports is unlimited, so you can swim to your heart’s content. The resort also has a tennis court, several golf courses, and a spa. As if you need any additional reasons to choose it for your next vacation, here are six:
This resort is pure luxury. From the spa treatments to the wonderful service, I give it six stars out of five. The staff is extraordinarily helpful, and they go above and beyond even when I asked them for help with the smallest task. The resort manager greets everyone upon check in, which is something that absolutely does not happen everywhere (although it should!) Literally from the second you get off of the plane, employees from the resort are there to help you. It made me feel like royalty! The rooms are beautifully appointed with high end linens and furniture, and the views from each room are excellent. There is a reason why Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren choose the Sandy Lane Resort Barbados as their wedding location in 2004.
Front Row (Location, Location, Location!)
With beautiful tropical gardens on one side, and views of the blue Caribbean on the other, you have a tough choice to make when deciding where in the resort to stay. The resort is located in St. James Parish, on the western side of the island – and the sunsets are breathtaking! If you feel like venturing off of the resort (although you won’t want to) the area has a number of world famous restaurants, serving everything from sushi to traditional Bajan food.
Beauty inside and out.
I could go on and on about how beautiful the area outside the hotel is (after all, it’s right on the Caribbean!) but, the interior is just as wonderful. The 2001 renovation left it with over 100 amazingly appointed rooms, complete with balconies or patios, depending on which floor you’re on. The “standard” rooms are anything but, and the suites span around 1,500 square feet, and come complete with two bedrooms, a living room, dining areas, a full bathroom and a smaller powder room. However, if that doesn’t suit your fancy, there are penthouses and a villa fit for a queen.
Water sports, golf, a Kid’s Club, babysitting, the spa… there are just some of the many things to do at the resort. If you like swimming, there’s the 7,500 square foot pool, complete with a waterfall, tropical greenery, and the Pool Bar, ensuring that you won’t have to go far for a light meal and some beverages. There are also three world-renowned golf courses (and a pro shop!) and nine tennis courts (with a tennis pro on staff, ready and waiting to give you lessons). If just sitting on the beach is in your plans, keep in mind that the excellent service extends there as well. There are plenty of employees ready and waiting to pamper you with cold towels and tropical drinks. Plus, it wouldn’t be a beach front resort without water sports. Water skiing, kayaking, catamaran sailing and banana boat rides are all complimentary activities, and, if you’d like, you can charter a boat and go snorkeling amongst the red coral or swimming with the turtles.
Tranquility. Serenity. Harmony
The resort not only provided these elements, but the Spa at Sandy Lane is exquisite. Not only is the staff highly qualified, but the environment is 100 percent relaxation. There is a hydrotherapy pool, ice room, outdoor showers, just anything beyond your dreams. I owe it to you, to tell you that I had the best massage to date there!
You won’t want to leave!
I’ve stayed at the Sandy Lane Resort twice now, and both times I had a hard time getting back to reality. The accommodations, the pampering, the service, the… everything was so fantastic that it was tempting to stay and live there forever!
Disclaimer: Thank You, Sandy Lane, for a wonderful stay! This stay was not part of a campaign.
